When it comes to western countries Facebook is most likely top of mind in people awareness on social networks. With about 1.59 billion monthly active users as of December 2015 according to Facebook itself, it’s yet the most used social network worldwide.
There’s more. Facebook also seems to be the favourite one by marketers, considering both usage and importance for their business. A survey run by Social Media Examiner on a base of more than 3700 marketers (mainly located in US) describe Facebook as the king. Usage differences emerge of course depending on B2C or B2B focused marketers, but still, even on B2B markets Facebook is leading along with LinkedIn: 88% of the base states to use both.
